MARQUETTE - UP General Contracting (UPGC) recently teamed up with the Lake Superior Community Partnership to celebrate their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The grand open- ing was an opportunity for the public to meet the UPGC team and view its newly remodeled office in downtown Marquette.
UPGC, founded in 2016, by CEO Klint Miller gives customers a new type of building experience, where quality and customer satisfaction is number one. UPGC specializes in custom high-end homes and trans- forming existing houses into new modern spaces. ConnectED Conference
ESCANABA - Erkki M. Peippo a local financial advisor affiliated with SagePoint Financial, recently attend- ed Advisor Group‚ ConnectED Conference, hosted Oct. 19 to 22 in Orlando, Fla. Each year, ConnectED brings together industry thought leaders, and thousands of financial advisors, to promote education and innovation in the wealth manage- ment sector.
ConnectED convened over 2,500 attendees to participate in sessions on timely industry topics.
Keynote speakers included Alan Mulally, the transformational former President of Ford Motor Company; additionally, prominent business journalist and anchor Neil Cavuto of Fox News and Fox Business Network moderated an economic review panel discussion. Breakout sessions focused on industry topics, policymaking, and business strategies, titles of which included: Financial Planning and Best Interest, Inside Social Security‚ Best Kept Secrets, and 2017 Investment Themes.

Hires Creative Director
MARQUETTE - Bennett Media Group (BMG) is excited to announce the recent hiring of David J. Ruck, MFA as Creative Director. He will be responsible for all filming, photography and editing for BMG clients as well as leading the creative process for their growing team.
Ruck, a graduate of Grand Valley State University and American University, most recently served as documentary filmmaker with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). He brings sixteen years of experience as a video storyteller. His thesis film, "I want to be an Astronaut," was the first film to premiere aboard the International Space Station to an audience of astro- nauts. Some equipment he'll use that is new to BMG includes an under- water housing unit and a drone. BMG is capable of filming in 4K RAW video giving them extreme lat- itude with composing images for their clients.
