Manufacturing Week - Networking & More
Sault Ste. Marie, MI - On Tuesday, October 3rd from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) hosted their Manufacturing Excellence Summit at the Soo Country Club. This event, focused on benefit- ting manufacturing in the region, brought in key speakers from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Talent and Eco- nomic Development Department of Michigan,
Michigan Manufacturers Association and TN Michigan.
“This event is bringing in a wider array of attendees from the Twin Saults, sponsors and speakers. This year we were able to grow the event and offer 2+ hours of networking during Manufacturing Week.” reported Jeff Holt, EDC Director.
Sault Ste. Marie Mayor Tony Bosbous wel- comed the group reporting that, “We want to continue to strengthen manufacturing in the Sault and surrounding areas. For every $1.00 spent in manufacturing, another $1.89 is added to the economy.”
Talent & Economic Development Deputy Director of Marketing & Strategy Sammie Lukaskiewicz showcased Going PRO which is a program dedicated to elevating the perception of professional trades and showcase the oppor- tunities in a variety of rewarding careers.
Chuck Hadden, President of the Michigan Manufacturers Association, updated leaders on the upcoming ballot proposals and how they will affect manufacturing noting the November
